Ouyang Heng, born in 1939, has been working as a dermatologist in traditional Chinese medicine for 50 years.

He was diagnosed with emphysema in 2009. But he insisted on seeing patients who came from all across the nation, even from abroad, to visit him, because of his fame in treating skin diseases. He is one of the best traditional Chinese medicine dermatologists in China.

 He is part of the dermatology department at a traditional Chinese medicine hospital in Hunan, where all the dermatologists are his former students, said Xiang Liping, deputy director of the department.

“He never keeps the knowledge and skills to himself. Instead, he shared his life-long experience with his students without reservation,” she said. “Many of his students are now the backbone of dermatology in traditional Chinese medicine.”
