Chinese government medical team heads to quake-hit Nepal

A Chinese government medical team is heading to Nepal to carry out medical rescue after the country was struck by a powerful earthquake on April 25.

All members, along with their drugs, instruments, and logistics materials, were in place on April 26 and the team will fly to Katmandu, capital of Nepal at 4 am on April 27.

The medical team consists of doctors from hospitals in China's Sichuan province and officials from the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) and its branch in Sichuan province and the Sichuan Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
