Ma Xiaowei

Ma Xiaowei, male, born in the Wutai county of Shanxi province in December 1959, is of Han ethnic group. He joined the Communist Party of China in October 1982. Ma started his career in August 1977.

He currently serves as head of the China Medical Association and vice-chairperson of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation.

From April 1978 to December of 1984, Ma studied at China Medical University and then served as the general office secretary at the science and education department at the Ministry of Health; associate research fellow, researcher, vice-president, president and Party secretary of the First Hospital of China Medical University; vice-president of China Medical University; director and Party secretary of the Liaoning health department.

In October 2001, he served as vice-minister and member of Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Health.

In April 2013, Ma became vice-minister and member of Party Leadership Group of the National Health and Family Planning Commission.

As of March 2018, Ma has served as minister and secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the National Health Commission.
