Yu Xuejun

Yu Xuejun, Han ethnicity, was born in Liuhe, Jilin province, in March 1964. He became a member of the CPC in December 1984. Yu holds a doctoral degree in law.

He studied economics at the Economic School of Peking University from September 1983 to February 1990.

Yu started his career in February 1990 at the China Population Information Center, now known as the China Population and Development Research Center, and has successively held the following posts:

Deputy director of the general office of the China Population Information Center, director assistant, deputy director and director of the China Population Information Center since June 1993;

Director of the China Population Information Center from November 2003 to February 2004

Director of the Department of Law and Legislation of the National Population and Family Planning Commission, from February 2004 to February 2009;

Director of the Department of Planning and Information of the National Population and Family Planning Commission from February 2009 to June 2013;

Director of the General Office of the National Health and Family Planning Commission from June 2013 to November 2017;

Director of the Department of Planning and Information of the National Health and Family Planning Commission from November 2017 to September 2018;

Director of the Department of Planning and Information of the National Health Commission from September 2018 to January 2019;

Vice-minister and member of the Leading Party Members Group of the National Health Commission since January 2019.
