The health of women and children plays an important role in family well-being and the entire nation’s future. Traditional Chinese medicine has unique advantages for women and children. Therefore, its extensive use for women and children will help improve their health as well as the development of maternal and child health undertakings..
Wang also emphasized that local governments should cultivate more professionals and experts, learn from others, promote traditional Chinese medicine in the healthcare of women and children, and forge a development path with Chinese characteristics.
During the conference, five famous experts in traditional Chinese medicine held lectures about gynecology and pediatrics of traditional Chinese medical science and infertility. Staff of maternity hospitals from Beijing, Guangdong and Guangxi introduced their practice and experience in using traditional Chinese medicine.
At the conference, the China women and the children’s health and traditional Chinese medicine development union was established on the basis of provincial maternity hospitals. In the future, the union members will strengthen communication and cooperation, and jointly promote the development and extensive use of traditional Chinese medicine in the healthcare of women and children.
This conference is the first national seminar on the use of traditional Chinese medicine in the healthcare of women and children since the establishment of the NHFPC. It is significant in accelerating the innovation, integration and development of women and children’s healthcare and traditional Chinese medicine.
