There were a total of 338,939 disease reports on the mainland, this February, with 855 deaths and no Cat A identifiable disease deaths reported and no SARS, poliomyelitis, or diphtheria reports. There were 221,007 cases of 23 Cat B identifiable diseases reported, with 849 deaths. The most frequent problems were viral hepatitis, tuberculosis, syphilis, gonorrhea and bacterial and amebic dysentery, accounting for 93 percent of Cat B diseases.
At the same time, there were 117,932 Cat C identifiable disease reports, with six deaths, and no filariasis outbreaks or death reports. The most frequent problems were from infectious diarrhea, hand-foot-and-mouth disease, and influenza, accounting for 89 percent of Cat C diseases.
