In October 2015 (from 0:00 October 1 to 24:00 October 31), there were a total of 542,178 notifiable disease reports in the Chinese mainland, with 1,276 deaths. There were two reports of cholera attacks in category A, and no SARS, poliomyelitis, human avian influenza or diphtheria reports. A total of 280,296 cases of 22 category B notifiable diseases were reported, with 1,268 deaths. The most frequent attacks were from viral hepatitis, tuberculosis, syphilis, bacterial or amebic dysentery, and schistosome, accounting for 91 percent of category B notifiable diseases.
At the same time, there were a total of 261,880 category C notifiable disease reports, with 8 deaths. There were no filariasis attack or death reports. The most frequent attacks were from hand-foot-and-mouth disease, other infectious diarrheas, and mumps, accounting for 95 percent of category C notifiable diseases.
