With the theme of Deepening Pragmatic Health Collaboration and Promoting Sustainable Health Development, the meeting is to start with a general assembly and opening ceremony, followed by five parallel sessions on  cooperation between hospitals, cooperation between public health institutions, a youth forum, and cooperation between traditional medicine and the healthcare industry.

The various activities viewable as satellite programs arranged by the Chinese host allow representatives to deepen their understanding of China’s health system and its healthcare industry, generating more pragmatic cooperation opportunities for all parties.

The meeting is an important activity of CEEC’s People to People Exchange Year. Its forum invites health ministers from China and Central and Eastern European Countries, and representatives from international organizations including WHO, medical institutes, associations, academic institutions and pharmaceutical companies.

Vice-Premier Liu Yandong, Bence Retvri, Deputy Minister of Human Capacities of Hungary, Shi Taifeng, the governor of Jiangsu province, and Bernhard Schwartländer, the WHO’s representative in China, are taking part in the meeting and delivering speeches.

Representatives are invited to visit the China International Exhibition on Pharmaceutical Ingredients and Intermediates in Shanghai after the meeting.

The meeting is a milestone of health cooperation between China and CEEC. The formal establishment of the China-CEEC Health Collaboration Promotion Association, and initiatives to establish a China-CEEC Hospital Collaboration Alliance and a China-CEEC Public Health Institutions Collaboration Mechanism have been announced, and are to be followed by signing of health cooperative agreements.
